DEPARTMENT: Office of the Associate Vice President for Research
SUPERVISOR’S TITLE: Associate Vice President for Research
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the Dean, Department Chairs and Faculty in the School of Science & Engineering on student recruitment and success
- Use best practices in STEM recruitment, success and retention
- Coordinate public events focused on STEM recruitment, create enthusiasm to motivate recruitment in STEM
- Enjoy working in the field and out of office as necessary to meet students
- Effectively use various social media platforms in recruitment of qualified students
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Work with diverse faculty, staff, and students
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Degree in STEM preferred with three years of related work experience
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Excellent computer skills and proficiency with a variety of computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher)
- Good driving record and enjoy working in the field
- Effective/timely completion of tasks
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Effective interpersonal skills and excellent work habit
- Other required skills to include electronic and paper file management, organizational skills and excellent communications
- Other related duties as required by the Associate Vice President (workforce development activities)
