STEM Recruiter and Student Success Coordinator

DEPARTMENT:  Office of the Associate Vice President for Research

SUPERVISOR’S TITLE:  Associate Vice President for Research

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the Dean, Department Chairs and Faculty in the School of Science & Engineering on student recruitment and success
  • Use best practices in STEM recruitment, success and retention
  • Coordinate public events focused on STEM recruitment, create enthusiasm to motivate recruitment in STEM
  • Enjoy working in the field and out of office as necessary to meet students
  • Effectively use various social media platforms in recruitment of qualified students
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Work with diverse faculty, staff, and students

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Degree in STEM preferred with three years of related work experience

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with a variety of computer applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher)
  • Good driving record and enjoy working in the field
  • Effective/timely completion of tasks
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal skills and excellent work habit
  • Other required skills to include electronic and paper file management, organizational skills and excellent communications
  • Other related duties as required by the Associate Vice President (workforce development activities)
