Benedict College National Alumni Association Membership
Among the colleges and universities of the United States, few were founded with the sense of mission and purpose common to the nation’s historically black institutions of higher learning.
When you graduated from Benedict College you joined a society whose membership can’t be bought at any price.  The entrance requirements are simple but demanding: Four years of hard work.
The College's Future Rests Squarely on Us
It’s a simple fact. No great College lacks a strong, active alumni association. Not one. Conversely, one test of the strength and viability of any college or university is the strength of its alumni association.
Alumni association membership not only gives its graduates a strong voice in the future direction of their alma mater, but also serves as the most visible sign of their faith in the future of the college.
If You Don’t Help Who Will?
Visible alumni support for Benedict College is critical to the college’s effort to gather support from other sources, notably the government and the corporate sector.Â
In soliciting this support our first question to ourselves as Benedict graduates should be:Â “If not us, then who?”
In this regard, active participation of each Benedict graduate, through alumni association membership, has an effect far beyond simply his or her membership dues or activities. It shows other potential supporters of Benedict that the College’s programs are a risk worth taking, an investment in an institution with active alumni proud of their education.
Time for You to Join
Simply put, now is the time for you to join the Benedict College National Alumni Association.
The College is riding the crest of a wave of recent accomplishments, which, with active alumni support, can be translated into increased public support and visibility for Benedict College well into the future. Some of the membership opportunities are: *Library privileges system wide, *Reserved parking area on campus, *Reserved seating to all formal, special events (i.e. Convocation/Commencement), * Homecoming Football game discount, *First Class mailing and publications.
Alumni Dues and the Annual Fund Drive
Paying alumni dues does not count as an annual fund gift nor does it count as a contribution to the College. Alumni dues support the operation for the Benedict College National Alumni Association.
Because none of the money is utilized or received by the College, the Alumni Association strongly encourages your gift to Benedict College for at least $1 for each year of Benedict’s existence. The Annual Fund accepts cash, check, money orders, Visa or MasterCard.
For more information regarding membership in the Benedict College Alumni Association, please contact the Alumni Affairs office at (800) 868-6598 or (803) 705-4600.
