One of the goals of the Student Success Center (SSC) is to offer quality tutorial services to Benedict College students. Students are encouraged to take advantage of SSC tutoring; our staff works to create a comfortable and engaging environment for students to further develop their academic skills and knowledge. Additionally, the tutors working at the Center are trained and certified in applying learning strategies and tutoring techniques to help students become more confident and competent learners while facing academic challenges and mastering the course content.
Tutoring is offered for the gatekeeping courses in Mathematics, Science, and English. Tutorial activity is adapted to course content and objectives and is an extension of classroom instruction. To ensure this extension is consistent with the SSC, tutors work closely with the faculty members in various departments to provide students with the opportunity to master the academic content needed to progress in their academic careers.
