Christian Mills is a strategic and innovative thinker with experience in project management, education, and civic engagement, who has used her skills and expertise in these areas to achieve and exceed outcomes in the realms of Higher Education, K-12 education, and community organizations serving diverse and/or underserved populations of K-12 students, college students, and adults.

Christian comes to us with a range of experiences, positive energy, and a unique skill set in financial literacy that supports the goal and student learning outcomes outlined in our QEP. I am confident that her passion for advancing financial literacy in our community will amplify the mission of the College and transform our students’ financial futures,” noted Dr. Verna Orr, Chief of Staff for Benedict College.
She is passionate about using her experiences to champion work that moves companies and organizations forward in their desire to develop, track, and/or implement highly impactful programming, initiatives, and curriculums and assist them in executing their missions of reaching, serving, and impacting the lives of their audiences for the better.
“I am passionate about advancing financial literacy in our community because I know that when we help one student, faculty member, coach, etc., work towards becoming financially literate, we don’t just help one person. We help shift the narrative and lived experiences of their generation and the next generation for the better, ” said Christian Mills, QEP Director for Benedict College.
Prior to joining the Benedict Family, Christian was a Campus and Community liaison with Our Money Matters from 2021-2023, where she managed their partnerships with HBCUs in North Carolina and South Carolina, including their partnership with Benedict College. She has planned several events that have exposed our students to financial literacy topics and resources, including a Student Loans lunch and learn (Fall 2022), a virtual Budgeting 101 workshop (Spring 2023,) OMM platform tutorial sessions for students and staff (Spring 2023) and led the planning for the QEP Rollout Campus and Coins Event (Spring 2023), which attracted 300+ students.
As the new QEP Director, Christian will focus on implementing the QEP as she supports the goals of the QEP to help students acquire less student loan debt while at Benedict College and helps to prepare them to demonstrate knowledge of financial literacy skills to make better decisions about their financial wellness.
Christian received a B.A. in Women and Gender Studies from the University of Delaware and an M.Ed. in Special Education from Wilmington University.
