COLUMBIA, S.C. – Benedict sophomore third baseman Ahmad Ali has been selected to the 2020 Black College Nines’ Elite Team for the 2020 shortened season.
Ali was named to the first team in the small school division.
Through 11 games, Ali was batting .474, which led the SIAC and ranked 10th nationally in Division II. He also led the SIAC and ranked 45th nationally in hits per game with 1.64. He ranked third in the SIAC and 41st nationally in on-base percentage (.543). He also ranked second in the SIAC, behind teammate Christopher Harper, in RBIs per game with 1.45, which ranked 22nd nationally. He was also second in the SIAC and 61st nationally in slugging percentage (.711).
The Tigers finished the 2020 shortened season with a 6-5 record.
