Studio Art Program

The Studio Art Program at Benedict College is pleased to announce the availability of a Freshman Art Scholarship designed to support talented incoming Studio Art majors.

This scholarship is awarded for one academic year (two semesters), with one-half of the award disbursed each semester. The scholarship is non-renewable.

Eligibility Requirements

To remain eligible, recipients must:

• Be enrolled as a full-time Studio Art major
• Maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
• Remain in the Studio Art major for the duration of the award

The scholarship will be canceled if the recipient changes majors or fails to meet the eligibility requirements outlined above.

Application & Portfolio Submission

Students interested in applying must submit a digital portfolio demonstrating artistic ability in two-dimensional and/or three-dimensional work, including evidence of:

• Drawing skills
• Color use
• Conceptual development

Any media may be included.

1. Digital Portfolio (10 works total)
2. Artist Statement
   1. One page, typed
   2. 8½” × 11″ format
   3. Single-spaced
   4. Describing your work, interests, and artistic goals
3. Completed Application Form, including:
   1. Inventory list of submitted works (title, medium, date)

Accepted Digital Portfolio Formats

Portfolios will be accepted only in one of the following formats:

• Microsoft PowerPoint presentation
• Personal website (URL)
• Individual PDF files
