Welcome to Starfleet Tiger Academy, where cybersecurity meets adventure. This immersive, Star Trek–themed summer bridge program is designed for rising 6th–12th-grade students and offers an engaging introduction to cybersecurity. For those unfamiliar with Star Trek, the program features a futuristic starship crew working collaboratively to solve complex, technology-driven challenges and defend against digital threats.
Building on the success of previous years, the Starfleet Tiger Academy Summer Camp provides handson experiences that connect key cybersecurity concepts to real-world applications. Students participate in activities such as networking, secure coding, digital forensics, and AI-enabled defense, all within narrative-driven missions inspired by the Star Trek universe, where they assume the roles of security officers.
Throughout the camp, participants will develop essential cybersecurity skills, with a focus on the principles of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of foundational concepts for protecting digital assets. Students will also be introduced to the “zero-trust” security model, which emphasizes verifying every user and device, as a starship crew safeguards its systems. In addition to technical skills, the program emphasizes teamwork, problem-solving, technical writing, and ethical decision-making through interactive and collaborative activities. With its comprehensive curriculum, Benedict College’s Starfleet Tiger Academy prepares students for academic and professional success in cybersecurity.
Participants will learn from experienced Benedict College faculty, staff, and student leaders dedicated to supporting the next generation of cybersecurity leaders. The Starfleet Tiger Academy Summer Camp fosters engagement, builds confidence, and encourages sustained interest in cybersecurity, equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to protect our digital world and tackle emerging cyber challenges.
