The minor in chemistry is designed to help prepare students for careers in science, research, or graduate school, especially those majoring in other subject areas. The Chemistry minor requires a total of 18 SCH.   

Prerequisites (9 SCHs): 

  • CHEM 137, Principles of Chemistry I (3 SCH) 
  • CHEM 138, Principles of Chemistry II (3 SCH) 
  • MATH 138, College Algebra or Higher (3 SCH) 
  • Required Minor Courses (18 Hours) 
  • CHEM 217L, Organic Chemistry I Lab (1 SCH) 
  • CHEM 218L, Organic Chemistry II Lab (1 SCH) 
  • CHEM 237, Organic Chemistry I (3 SCH) 
  • CHEM 238, Organic Chemistry II (3 SCH) 
  • CHEM 313L, Analytical Chemistry Lab (1 SCH) 
  • CHEM 333, Analytical Chemistry (3 SCH) 
  • Any CHEM 300 or 400-level course (6 hours)
