The Office of Religious Services supports the religious, spiritual, and faith needs of students, faculty, and staff at Benedict College. We foster an environment of respect, inclusion, and care for individuals of all faith traditions, spiritual identities, and those who do not identify with a particular belief system.
Grounded in interfaith respect and inclusion, we believe spiritual life and ethical leadership are essential components of the Benedict experience. Through worship, reflection, dialogue, service, and support, we help students grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually.

Student Engagement
Students are encouraged to develop leadership through worship, service initiatives, campus programs, mentoring opportunities, and community outreach.
Opportunities include: worship leadership, student ministry teams, community service projects, peer mentoring, campus engagement, and interfaith dialogue leadership.

Antisdel Chapel
Built in 1932 under Benedict College’s first African-American president, Dr. John J. Starks, Antisdel Chapel has served as a spiritual and cultural landmark for nearly 95 years.
Before Antisdel Chapel was built, students, faculty, and staff worshiped in a makeshift chapel on the first floor of Osborn Hall. Dr. Starks announced plans to raise funds for a chapel after becoming president in 1930.
The chapel has hosted worship services, community meetings, concerts, and significant African American cultural events, including W.E.B. Du Bois speaking there in 1946.
Renovations began in 2023 and were completed in December 2025. In March 2026, Antisdel Chapel was rededicated to continue its legacy of worship, service, reflection, and community.
