Marketing and Communications Coordinator

The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will play a pivotal role in advancing the mission of the Benedict College Women’s Business Center (BC WBC) by developing and executing targeted marketing strategies and communications plans. These efforts will promote the center’s range of programs, services and successes in supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses. This full-time position requires 100% commitment and reports directly to the Executive Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies and communication plans that effectively highlight the BC WBC’s programs, services, workshops, and success stories.
  • Create engaging content for various communication channels including social media, the BC WBC website, and email campaigns to enhance engagement and program participation.
  • Manage and oversee the BC WBC’s social media profiles and website, ensuring timely updates and leveraging analytics to optimize content strategy.
  • Design promotional materials that effectively communicate the benefits of the BC WBC’s programs, such as entrepreneurial training, financial literacy workshops, and networking events.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including program participants, community leaders, and potential sponsors, to enhance outreach and support for the center’s objectives.
  • Coordinate marketing efforts for BC WBC events, ensuring high visibility and attendance, and support event logistics as needed.
  • Analyze marketing and communications data to assess campaign effectiveness and adapt strategies to better meet the needs of the community.
  • Keep abreast of the latest marketing trends and best practices, particularly those effective in nonprofit and community-focused initiatives.
  • Deliver in-house quarterly marketing and communication strategy training and workshops for entrepreneurs and small business owners.
  • Provide individual and group-level technical assistance, such as virtual and in-person office hours, to address specific marketing queries from entrepreneurs and small businesses.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related
  • At least 2+ years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably within a nonprofit or community development context.
  • Proficiency with CRM software, such as Salesforce, WordPress, and familiarity with Google Ads for Nonprofits.
  • Strong capability in social media management, content creation, and performance analytics.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Skilled in graphic design, with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Independent, creative thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • A strong passion for empowering entrepreneurs and advancing small businesses.
