Dr. Scott Dunn earned a B.S. from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, student Computer Networks and Systems. He worked as a computer technician, database administrator, help desk manager, and software developer before returning to school. He received his M.A. in Mathematics from Central Michigan University with a focus on teaching mathematics at the collegiate level. He then earned his Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina with a focus on number theory. After graduating, he worked for the Honors College at the University of South Carolina as a mathematics instructor, served as department chair at Allen University, and currently a department chair at Benedict College.
Dr. Scott Dunn has several publications, has given contributed talks to conferences such as at the Canadian Number Theory Association Meeting, the Joint Mathematics Meetings, the International Conference on Technology in Collegiate Mathematics, the Palmetto Area Number Theory Seminars, and the South East Regional Meeting On Numbers. He regularly attends a variety of conferences focusing on mathematics, education and teaching, student research, and on SACS COC and ABET accreditations.
