Naima Naheed

Dr. Naima Naheed is a Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Benedict College, where she has taught since 2009 and earned tenure in 2015. She holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Memphis, with research expertise spanning nonlinear dynamics, machine learning, digital image processing, numerical linear algebra, and deep learning. Dr. Naheed has published extensively, including recent work on image deblurring, noise classification, and image enhancement techniques, and has mentored more than 25 undergraduate STEM students in research, resulting in numerous conference presentations and publications. She has secured competitive research grants, including support from SCICU and the Department of Energy’s Los Alamos National Laboratory Visiting Faculty Fellowship, and has actively served as a reviewer for journals, conferences, and textbooks. Dedicated to service, she has contributed to college committees, external judging, and national STEM initiatives, while maintaining memberships in AMS, SIAM, and MAA.
