The Criminal Justice Administration Department celebrated Criminal Justice Week with a program featuring guest speakers United States Marshal Chrissie C. Latimore and Attorney La’ Jessica Stringfellow.
During the program, six students were inducted into the Benedict College Pi Zeta Omicron Chapter of Alpha Phi Sigma Criminal Justice Honor Society. The goals of the honor society are to honor and promote academic excellence, community service, educational leadership and unity.
Advisor Dr. Deborah Hunter-Clark says, “This year we are delighted to welcome some new students are committed to high academic standards and service to the Benedict campus as well as our local community. Alpha Phi Sigma Honor Society members understand the ultimate test of the value of any organization lies in the accomplishments of its members.
The students inducted were Lotaji Coleman, sophomore; Joshua Davis, senior; Brazil Jones, sophomore; Jessica Mungo, junior; Brynoshay Townsend, sophomore and Defredric Twitty, senior.
The honor society boasts 12 current members that engage in service to the campus and the community. To be eligible for the honor society, students need a 3.2 GPA or higher and must have taken at least 12 hours of Criminal Justice courses. Inducted students receive a welcome letter, certificate, lapel pin, and membership card.
