2024 Charter Day Scholarship Awards Dinner

"Focused on the Future"

featuring a

BESTofBC Student Talent Showcase

Saturday, November 16, 2024

Reception at 6:00 p.m.
Dinner at 7:00 p.m.

Pastides Alumni Center
900 Senate Street, Columbia, South Carolina

The annual Charter Day Scholarship Dinner commemorates the chartering of the institution by the South Carolina Legislature in November of 1894. It is an occasion to collectively acknowledge those corporations, businesses, and individuals whose generosity has provided an invaluable service to the College in its role of offering a solid, quality education to thousands of young men and women.

Through donations, that include scholarships, internships, financial contributions, equipment, and professional resources, this body of supporters has helped reinforce the institution’s confidence in its ability to function at the cutting edge of educational change and innovation.

These exceptional collaborations help to add value to a Benedict College education – an education that empowers students with skills to enrich their lives and the lives of others, and an education that promotes character development and respect for humankind.

With the establishment of this event, the College has taken steps to bridge the gap between higher education and the building of a competent American workforce, by focusing on the new educational paradigm of the community-college partnership.
