COLUMBIA, S.C., June 2, 2026, Benedict College proudly announces the appointment of Jim Stuckey, Vice President and General Counsel for Dominion Energy Services, Inc., to its Board of Trustees. A distinguished attorney, corporate executive, and public servant, Stuckey brings decades of legal, regulatory, and leadership experience to the institution as it continues advancing its mission of academic excellence and transformational leadership.
Currently serving as Vice President and General Counsel for Dominion Energy Services, Inc., Stuckey oversees the Law Department for one of the nation’s largest producers and transporters of energy. His extensive career includes executive leadership roles with Dominion Energy and SCANA Corporation, where he successfully led legal, regulatory, and corporate governance initiatives, including negotiations surrounding the landmark $13.4 billion merger between SCANA and Dominion Energy.

Prior to his corporate leadership roles, Stuckey served as Chief Legal Counsel to South Carolina Governor Jim Hodges, where he advised on major public policy initiatives and significant legal matters impacting the state. His distinguished legal career also includes leadership positions at nationally recognized law firms, including Littler Mendelson and Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough, LLP.

A graduate of Duke University School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor with honors and served as Lead Notes Editor of the Alaska Law Review, Stuckey also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Stuckey has demonstrated a deep commitment to civic and educational leadership. He currently serves on several prominent boards, including the International African American Museum in Charleston, the University of South Carolina Development Foundation, and the ETV Endowment of South Carolina, Inc.
