COLUMBIA, SC – Sept. 12, 2025 – Three Benedict College students participated in an exclusive corporate visit to the Microsoft Atlanta Campus on Friday, Sept. 5, 2025. Senior Leah Brock, Senior Asia Cooper and Senior Monelle Sherwood represented the Benedict College Innovation Lab and the Tyrone Adam Burroughs School of Business and Entrepreneurship through an invitation by the USC Darla Moore School of Business Dean Deborah Hazzard. This is the first time that Benedict and USC have visited the Microsoft Atlanta Campus together.
During the visit, students engaged in a comprehensive experience that included a campus tour, interactive discussions with Microsoft managers and a dynamic Q&A session. Students learned firsthand about Microsoft’s workplace culture, values of innovation and opportunities for future leaders in business and technology.
“This experience gave our students the chance to see innovation at work and to envision themselves as future changemakers in global companies like Microsoft,” said Professor Raquel Thomas, director of the Innovation Lab, who also participated in the visit. “It bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world application, empowering our scholars to dream bigger.”
The Benedict College Innovation Lab continues to serve as a hub for creativity, entrepreneurship, and student leadership, aligning with Benedict’s mission to prepare scholars to compete and succeed in a global digital economy.
