Alumni Spotlight: Quintavious Sims

Quintavious “Quinton” Sims is a proud native of Georgia and a graduate of Benedict College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications. During his time at Benedict, he was an active member of The Tiger News committee and performed with the award-winning Benedict College Gospel Choir. Currently serving as the Chief of Staff for Atlanta City Council District 10, Sims plays a vital role in advancing the office’s mission under the leadership of Council Member Andrea L. Boone. In this capacity, he oversees constituent services, community outreach and engagement, city resource coordination, media relations, and crisis communications.

His efforts have strengthened community trust, enhanced responsiveness to resident concerns, and supported impactful initiatives such as food distributions, clean-up efforts, and historic marker unveilings. Sims is also a certified Advanced Public Information Officer, having completed both basic and advanced PIO training in Charlotte, North Carolina. With a diverse background in photography, media writing, social media, graphic design, and digital marketing, he continues to bring creativity and innovation to his work in public service.

A devoted husband and believer in Christ, Sims serves as the Head Choir Director at Rock Creek Missionary Baptist Church, where he has led the music ministry since 2015. His passion for music, service, and community reflects his commitment to excellence and his dedication to uplifting others through both faith and action.
