Alexis Johnson is the chief photographer for WACH Fox 57. A 1997 honor graduate of Benedict College, Johnson has more than 20 years of experience in news and media production. He has had the opportunity to also work at WLTX-TV and WOLO-TV.
Johnson’s career has allowed him to cover presidential candidate visits and elections, impactful protests and marches, the Emanuel 9, the Charleston 9, and severe weather across the Midlands.
Johnson says, “My role as Chief Photographer has been challenging and rewarding at the same time. You never stop growing in this profession. I welcome new challenges every day, as well as the evolution of new technology and the impact it has had on this field.”
As chief photographer, Johnson is involved in station projects and initiatives. His responsibilities also include training new reporters and photographers. You can usually find him capturing stories daily and mentoring young journalists.
